Heat-pump reversing valve troubleshooting
Directs refrigerant flow between heating and cooling using a pilot solenoid and the main valve assembly.
Failure causes
Choose a cause for symptoms, checks that separate it from similar faults, repair direction and verification.
Missing command or open solenoid coil →The intended pilot command does not reach or actuate the solenoid.Stuck main valve →The internal moving assembly does not route refrigerant as intended despite the appropriate pilot command and operating conditions.Internal valve bypass →Leakage across the valve's internal paths reduces useful system pressure separation and capacity.
