What happens
A displaced pipe clip, missing approved insulation or unsuitable sensing location measures the wrong thermal condition.
Typical symptoms
Control behavior changes after cleaning or service; temperature inputs lag or differ from the actual pipe or room condition.
Checks that distinguish this cause
Inspect sensor positioning, contact and insulation against the exact installation. Compare temperature at the intended sensing point with the reported input.
What can look similar
An incorrect curve or a failing board input can create inaccurate readings even with correct mounting.
Repair direction
Restore the approved sensor location and mounting without altering calibrated parts.
Verify the repair
Verify input response and stable system operation after the mounting correction.
Equipment-specific limits
Use the exact sensor curve, connector pinout and temperature reference. There is no universal mini-split thermistor resistance, test voltage or interchangeable code table.
