What happens
A wireless module, network or account association prevents app control while local HVAC functions may remain available.
Typical symptoms
The app says offline but the local controller can still operate the unit.
Checks that distinguish this cause
Compare local operation with app operation, then follow the official module pairing, supported network and account procedure. Preserve schedules and records before an instructed reset.
What can look similar
A whole-unit power failure also makes the app offline; it is not automatically a router problem.
Repair direction
Correct the confirmed supported network or module configuration, or replace a proven failed accessory.
Verify the repair
Verify local operation and app commands separately, including recovery after a normal network interruption.
Equipment-specific limits
Use supported controllers and interface modules. A Wi-Fi failure is separate from indoor/outdoor communication; do not jumper unidentified mini-split terminals or infer a conventional 24 VAC thermostat connection.
