What happens
Debris, closed paths or excessive duct resistance reduces air movement despite a running motor.
Typical symptoms
Low vent flow, noise or recurring coil ice with a rotating blower.
Checks that distinguish this cause
Inspect the safely isolated wheel, filter, coil and accessible duct paths. Evaluate external static pressure and airflow against the unit's limits.
What can look similar
Motor failure or low speed selection can also reduce flow; identify the actual limiting factor.
Repair direction
Clean approved components and correct the verified return or supply restriction.
Verify the repair
Verify delivered airflow and that freezing does not recur.
Equipment-specific limits
Airflow depends on the wheel, duct pressure and configuration as well as motor rotation. Match the procedure to PSC, constant-torque ECM or variable-speed ECM technology.
